Cykelspåret längs ostkusten (huvudled)

The long-distance trail along Sweden's east coast – sea views, archipelago and small coastal towns in a row. This collection covers the main route, a continuous stretch easy to split into stages depending on time, weather and energy. The surface is mostly asphalt on country roads and cycle paths, but expect sections of gravel and some short passages on busier roads through built-up areas. Works well for touring or gravel bikes; comfortable, slightly wider tires make the ride smoother. The terrain is mostly flat to gently rolling – often the wind is your biggest challenge. The trail goes through swim-friendly beaches, harbours and nature reserves, with plenty of food stops and accommodation along the way. Keep an eye on signage and local deviations; the main route is the straight line, but smaller detours may pop up. Can be ridden nicely in both directions – many choose tailwind. Best season spring to autumn; mid-summer traffic can be busier. Pack lights and reflectors, be considerate in towns, and enjoy long coastal views and fika in every little town.
