Green Belt Route

Groene Gordelroute

A cycling tour with 6 stages, starting in Sint-Pieters-Leeuw, Flemish Region, Belgium.

Overview

About this tour

This collection features great sections between Sint-Pieters-Leeuw and Beersel in Flemish Brabant. You mainly ride on quiet roads and bike paths, mixed with trails and short stretches of busier roads. The surface is mostly paved (asphalt and concrete), with some gravel, cobblestones, and a few unpaved sections.

Ideal for an all-round bike or gravel bike. It’s also possible with a road bike, but expect some bumpiness on cobblestones and loose stones. The landscape is gently rolling, with open fields and green passages — perfect for a relaxing weekend ride or a quick after-work spin.

You can start in Sint-Pieters-Leeuw or Beersel; riding in both directions works well and the sections combine easily. Tip: after rain, the unpaved parts can get muddy, so slightly wider tires make it more enjoyable.
