EuroVelo 3 - Pilgrims Route (Belgium)

Ride the Belgian leg of EuroVelo 3, the Pilgrims Route. It runs across the country mostly on the RAVeL network and riverside paths in the Sambre and Meuse valleys. Surfaces are largely paved (asphalt and concrete), with just a few short gravel or wooden stretches. You’ll spend most of the time on cycleways and quiet streets, with only brief hops on busier roads.

Expect easy navigation, gentle gradients along the rivers, and regular towns for food, water, and train links. It’s ideal for touring bikes and panniers, a relaxed weekend ride, or a smooth connection between France and Germany on the EV3 corridor.

Best from spring to autumn. Pack lights for shaded towpaths and be ready for the odd cobbled section in historic centers. Scenic, practical, and very rideable.
