TransAmerica Trail

A collection of 35 cycling routes.

Overview

About this collection

Big, multi‑section ride built from lots of segments. Mostly paved with long stretches on regular roads and plenty of cycleway, plus the odd gravel, ground, or track bit. Traffic varies: there are quiet sections and busy roads, so bring lights and stay visible. The total climbing is huge, with rolling and steeper bits depending on where you jump in. Starts and finishes are flexible—use a short section for a day spin or link a bunch for a tour. Works well on a road or touring bike; a little extra tire width helps on the unpaved patches. If you want a grand, varied route that mixes towns, countryside, and changing terrain, this collection delivers without getting too technical.
