Disentis–Biasca via Passo del Lucomagno

From the heart of Graubünden to Biasca via the Lukmanier Pass: a classic alpine crossing. Starting from Disentis, you climb to the pass and then descend into the Blenio Valley down to Ticino, passing alpine pastures, forests and high-altitude panoramas. The route is almost entirely on asphalt, with a very short gravel section. You mainly ride on roads: traffic is heavier on some stretches, so be cautious; here and there there are bike path sections useful to get off traffic. The climb to the pass is long but steady, followed by a very long descent to Biasca. Road bikes are suitable; gravel bikes work very well too. Bring short gearing and well-functioning brakes; lights are handy for possible tunnels. Supplies available in villages of the Blenio Valley and at the valley floor, with bars and fountains. Better with stable weather. Recommended direction: north→south, to enjoy the long descent in the Canton of Ticino. Perfect if you want to link Graubünden and Ticino in a single ride.
