Rigi-Reuss-Klettgau Cycling Routes

From the foothills of Rigi to the Reuss valley and across to the Klettgau, this collection links classic Swiss scenery in one smooth ride mix. Think quiet backroads and signed cycleways most of the time, with some farm tracks and a few short connectors on busier roads between towns.

Surfaces are mostly paved asphalt, with brief stretches of gravel, pebblestone, and the odd cobble—fine for road or touring bikes, with wider tires adding comfort. Expect rolling terrain and a couple of honest climbs, roughly 1,200 m up and a similar amount down across the set.

You’ll get big views around Rigi, easy cruising along the Reuss, and open landscapes and vineyards in the Klettgau near the German border. Plenty of village cafés and bakeries along the way, and the routes ride well in either direction.

Tips: use lights for the busier links, take it easy through town centers and pedestrian zones, and watch for muddier farm lanes after rain. Overall, a scenic, varied set of rides that’s perfect for a solid day out or a relaxed tour split into sections.
