Maritime Helsinki at its best – these routes circle shores, bays and islands in pursuit of beautiful views. Classics include Kaivopuisto–Eiranranta, Hietaniemi and Seurasaari, the Lauttasaari loop and the bridges to Kalasatama and Mustikkamaa. Arabianranta and Vanhankaupunginlahti also suit peaceful scenic rides.

The surface is mainly asphalt and separate bike paths, but there is also gravel, paving stones and a few wooden decks – a basic city bike manages well. The profile is mostly flat; slight rises come from bridges and embankments. Winds at the shore can surprise, but the sea often makes the air refreshingly cool.

Tips: a break at a café or ice cream kiosk is part of the plan, and in summer bring swimwear – there are plenty of beach spots. Some sections go through pedestrian zones and busy intersections, so take care and use your bell. You can do a short evening ride or combine sections for a long coastal trip, depending on mood.
