Rheinschiene Radroute Dinslaken–Bad Honnef

This route takes you along the Rhine corridor from Dinslaken to Bad Honnef – always close to the river, across North Rhine-Westphalia. The route is mostly flat and well-developed: lots of asphalt and cobblestones, with short gravel sections in between. You ride on riverside paths, quiet side streets, and signposted bike lanes; occasionally you’ll go through pedestrian zones or busier streets – so stay alert. Along the way, Rhine meadows, dikes, and harbor views blend with urban flair and industrial history. At the end, you'll find Rhine romance and the Siebengebirge mountains near Bad Honnef. Ideal for touring and everyday bikes; narrower tires work too if you take the unpaved sections easy. Handy: many places along the route have good train connections, allowing you to plan stages flexibly. Best time is spring to autumn; during high water check local detours.
