A collection of 11 cycling routes.

Overview

About this collection

Ride the PEI stretch of the Trans Canada Trail for easygoing miles on a mostly car‑free rail trail with a few short road links. Expect firm gravel and crushed stone for the bulk of the way, with just occasional paved bits. Grades are gentle, so it’s great for relaxed touring, family rides, and long gravel days alike.

You’ll roll past farms, rivers, and bays, dipping in and out of small towns for snacks and coffee. Shaded tree tunnels are common, and there are plenty of spots to pause for views. The route connects communities across the island, making it simple to break into day rides or string together a multi‑day trip.

Best with 32–45 mm tires (or wider) and a bike that’s happy on gravel. Services pop up regularly, but carry water between villages. It’s a shared-use trail, so keep it friendly with walkers and runners. Wind can be a factor near the coast; layers help in shoulder seasons.

In short: smooth surfaces, mellow gradients, and classic island scenery. A solid pick for anyone wanting a low‑stress, scenic ride across Prince Edward Island.
