About this collection

The Art Cities Route connects Flemish art cities such as Antwerp, Mechelen, Leuven, Ghent and Bruges in one long ride. Expect mainly bike paths and quiet roads, with some cobblestones and a bit of gravel here and there, plus occasional short stretches on busier roads.

Count on about 285 km total with modest elevation gain (around 550 m up and 570 m down) — flat to gently rolling, ideal for a multi-day tour. You can start wherever you want and split the route into 2–4 stages, depending on time and legs.

Along the way, you cycle past historic centres, waterways and cosy squares, with plenty of spots for coffee, fries or a quick museum stop. Train stations in every city make logistics easy. Comfort tip: slightly wider tyres are nice on cobbles and the short gravel sections.

Perfect if you want to mix culture with relaxed touring through Flanders.
