About this tour
A relaxed section of the Water Castles Route from Bedburg to Euskirchen. Mostly flat with a gentle descent – ideal for a calm ride without many elevation gains. The terrain is mixed: many farm roads and paths, plus cycle paths and quiet streets; longer gravel and dirt sections alternate with asphalt. There are also short stretches on busier roads. Best on a touring or gravel bike; very narrow road bike tires can get bumpy. Scenic-wise, it goes through the Rhenish Plain with fields and floodplains; typical for the route are castles and historic sites along the way. Plan stops in the towns and allow a bit more time on the unpaved sections when wet. Start in Bedburg, finish in Euskirchen.
