About this collection

A classic among the German D-routes with a pilgrimage theme – a varied long-distance tour through different regions. The surface is mostly asphalted or otherwise paved; there are sections with cobblestones, gravel, some cobbled areas, and short unpaved stretches. Mostly it goes along quiet roads, bike and footpaths, as well as field and forest trails; occasionally some parts on busier roads. Rarely there are stairs or footbridges – in these cases, you need to briefly push your bike.

Trekking and gravel bikes are best suited. Narrow road tires can handle much of it, but the gravel and cobblestone sections can be rough. Lights and good visibility are advisable for road sections, and an up-to-date GPS track helps with navigation.

The route has a relaxed, culturally rich character – perfect if you like to take small breaks along the way. Ideal for stages: entry and exit points are flexible depending on how much time you have.
