Bar To Bar – Barbaresco, Alta Langa e Barolo

In this case, the autumn foliage is not limited to the woods. The Bar to Bar route, from Barbaresco to Barolo via Alta Langa, passes through vineyards, hazelnut groves, forests, gravel roads and small villages.

The full loop is approximately 124 kilometres long and is divided into seven stages. This is not an easy, flat cycle route: especially when choosing the complete itinerary, you should expect climbs, descents and off-road sections.

In autumn, however, the Langhe landscape takes on a completely different character. The rows of vines change colour, the woods enter their autumn phase, and truffle season adds another reason to turn the ride into a multi-day journey.

It is a good example of how autumn foliage can also be sought by bike outside the classic Alpine landscape.

Length: approximately 124 km, divided into seven stages. Suggested period: mid-October to early November. Surface: asphalt, gravel roads, trails and country tracks. Recommended bike: a gravel bike with suitable tyres or a mountain bike. Difficulty: moderately challenging to demanding; the full loop is recommended for well-trained cyclists.
