Cycling in Boughton

This is a great training run for an easy morning ride.  About 44 miles there and back, it's almost all on dedicate cycle way or seriously quiet roads.  The stopping place in Lincoln is a good areas for grabbing a coffee before heading back.  Lovely views across Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire fields, mostly flat except at the start, leaving Ollerton.  Crossing the Trent on the old High Marnham Power Station bridge is fun too.  Look out for the private plane often parked in a field just across the Lincolnshire border after the river.  The Nottinghamshire side can be thick with hares if you arrive early enough. Note: cycle route is quite gravelly so slick tyres might find it hard going.  Hybrids fine though.

A route taken by some intrepid souls in September 2010, now edited for 2011. Great route that is flat as a pancake until towards the end - save a bit of energy for the Wolds!  Memorable finish as you approach the clock tower at Skegness, especially if families are waiting to cheer you home.   Natural breaks for coffee at Lincoln by the wharf and Woodhall Spa.
