Taradell to Barcelona
Cycling route in Taradell, Catalonia, Spain
For the most part, this was a great route to get from where we were staying near Vic to Barcelona. With the exception of maybe a kilometer near the start and a few kilometers along the Riu Bessòs as we neared Barcelona, all was well paved. For the most part, the roads had no road shoulder. I suspect that we would have avoided some of the unpaved sections had we crossed to the east side of the river at Pont de Montcada.
The only sections that had too much traffic were C-59 getting into Sant Feliu de Codines and C-39 descending out of Sant Feliu de Codines, up until we exited C-59 when approaching Caldes de Montbui.
Getting into Barcelona itself, we found an outstanding system of cycling lanes. Better than any other city we've seen...though admittedly, we haven't ridden in the Netherlands since 2001.

Taradell - Circle to Coll de la Pollosa
Cycling route in Taradell, Catalonia, Spain
This was a nice ride on excellent roads. There was some traffic, but not too much. The road quality is excellent, but there are no road shoulders. The climbing was relatively gradual and not too steep.

Taradell - Circle to Seva
Cycling route in Taradell, Catalonia, Spain
This was all nice riding on low-trafficked roads. The roads, which are mostly through forested areas, are somewhat narrow with no shoulder. This made for a good quick workout. While there was plenty of ups and downs, none were very steep.

Taradell - Circle to Sant Miguel de Sesperxes
Cycling route in Taradell, Catalonia, Spain
Since we'll be riding to Barcelona tomorrow, we took this route to scout out whether the road after turning off C-1413b was either paved or good quality unpaved. At first, it was a great zero-trafficked paved road. But withiin a kilometer or two, it turned unpaved and soon deteriorated after that. Accordingly, we'll have to forget this extension off of C-1413b toward Barcelona and instead head through Sant Feliu de Codines on our way toward Barcelona.
Aside from this unpaved portion, all of the rest (with the exception of a little unpaved road after turning off from BV-5303 to reach els Hostalets de Balenyà) was great road with little traffic.
