Cycling day trip from Scuol to Mals

Get ready for a scenic cross-border adventure! This ride starts in Scuol, a charming Swiss resort town known for its mineral springs and impressive mountain scenery in Lower Engadine. From here, you’ll climb and descend your way toward Mals (Malles Venosta), a historic Italian village famous for its Romanesque towers and welcoming atmosphere.

The route covers just over 54 km, packed with alpine beauty and a hearty elevation gain—so expect your legs and lungs to get a good workout with nearly 1,500 meters of climb and even more descent. You'll mostly be rolling on paved and asphalt surfaces (about 70%), but be ready for a bit of gravel and unpaved track; it just adds to the adventure!

Much of the ride follows quieter roads and tracks, so you can soak in the gorgeous valley views and fresh mountain air without much traffic. As you approach Mals, take in the unique blend of Tyrolean and Italian culture (and maybe treat yourself to a well-earned gelato at the finish!).
