By bicycle from Tilburg to Loon op Zand

A short, almost pancake-flat spin from Tilburg to Loon op Zand, about 9.5 km and mostly on dedicated cycleways. Roll out through Tilburg’s excellent fietspad network, cross the Wilhelminakanaal, and cruise past open fields and bits of woodland—expect smooth asphalt most of the way with the odd paving-stone stretch near villages.

Tilburg’s a former textile hub with a lively culture scene (check the Textile Museum or De Pont before you go). Loon op Zand greets you with a cozy village vibe and, just beyond, the vast sands of Nationaal Park De Loonse en Drunense Duinen—often called the “Brabant Sahara.” Efteling theme park is next door in Kaatsheuvel if you’re up for a detour afterward.

Route vibes: ~88% on cycleways, very light traffic, and barely any climbing (around 14 m up, 17 m down). Great for an easy ride; if the wind’s up, you’ll notice it on the open stretches.
