Covering about 83 kilometers, most of your journey rolls over smooth pavement and quiet paths, making it a relaxed adventure for a day out.

After leaving Stade’s picturesque old town, you’ll cruise alongside the Elbe River, through peaceful villages and flat, open marshes–keep an eye out for grazing sheep and big sky views! With barely 200 meters of climbing, it’s a gentle route, perfect for soaking up rural northern Germany at your own pace.

The path is primarily paved and traffic-light, though you’ll find the occasional stretch of paving stones or gravel. Approaching Cuxhaven, you’ll smell the salty breeze and maybe spot some tall ships or ferries heading out to Heligoland.
