Cycling day trip from Bad Karlshafen to Höxter

This scenic cycling route takes you from the Baroque spa town of Bad Karlshafen, nestled at the confluence of the Weser and Diemel rivers, to the charming town of Höxter on the banks of the Weser. You’ll cover just under 28 km, mostly on smooth asphalt and quiet tracks, so it’s easy on both the legs and the eyes. The ride features rolling hills (be ready for a couple hundred meters of ascent!), but there’s always a picturesque village or river bend to keep things interesting.

Bad Karlshafen is known for its historical town center and impressive harbor basin, where you might want to grab a quick coffee before setting off. As you approach Höxter, you’ll enter a town famed for its medieval Old Town and the nearby UNESCO World Heritage site, Corvey Abbey. With almost the entire route paved and traffic-light, it’s perfect for a leisurely ride. Take your time, enjoy the river views, and don’t forget to snap a few photos along the way!
