Cycling day trip from Gütersloh to Bielefeld

Set off from Gütersloh, a pleasant city known for its parks and as the headquarters of media giant Bertelsmann. You’ll ride north for just under 22 km, mostly on smooth asphalt or well-paved cycleways, making this a comfortable trip for most riders. Expect a gentle climb with about 105 meters of ascent—a good way to get your legs working, but nothing too strenuous!

The route takes you along mostly quiet roads and dedicated bike paths, so you can enjoy the scenery without battling traffic. As you approach Bielefeld, nestled on the northern edge of the Teutoburg Forest, you’ll have a mellow descent. Bielefeld itself is a lively university city with a quirky rumor that it doesn’t actually exist—the “Bielefeld Conspiracy”!
