Cycling day trip from Bottrop to Mülheim

This ride takes you from Bottrop down to Mülheim, covering just over 20 km—a nice distance for a relaxed outing or a brisk workout, depending on your mood. Bottrop is known for its industrial roots and vibrant parks, so you’re starting somewhere with a ton of local character. As you leave the city, you’ll be on mostly paved and asphalt surfaces, so most of the way is smooth sailing, with only a bit of gravel to keep things interesting.

The route is pleasantly varied, mixing quiet roads and cycleways with some peaceful paths looping through local greenery. There’s a bit of up and down—expect just over 100 meters of ascent—nothing too daunting, but enough to keep you awake!
