Cycling day trip from Cargèse to Calvi

Ready for a real Corsican adventure? This long ride takes you from the striking clifftop village of Cargèse, known for its unique Greek and Latin churches facing each other, all the way north to vibrant Calvi, famous for its impressive citadel and stylish marina.

You'll follow about 112 km of mixed surfaces—mostly smooth pavement, but don’t be surprised by intermittent gravel and the odd unpaved stretch. The route's a rollercoaster, with over 5,600 meters of ascent and even more descent, so bring your climbing legs (and maybe a second lunch).

Leaving the dramatic blue coves of Cargèse, you’ll wind along busy and quiet coastal roads, threading through rugged hills and pine forests. Expect plenty of panoramic Mediterranean views, plunging gorges, and perhaps even glimpses of wild pigs or goats crossing your path.

Arriving in Calvi, reward yourself with a cold drink at the harbor and take a stroll beneath the old city’s ramparts. It’s a long day in the saddle, but the Corsican scenery makes every pedal stroke worth it!
