Bikepacking from Old Town to Dresden

Get ready for an awesome cross-border bike adventure! Start in the heart of Prague’s Old Town—a UNESCO gem packed with cozy cafes and stunning Gothic sights. From here, your route winds north for about 227 km, rolling along mostly smooth asphalt and quiet roads with plenty of well-marked cycleways (hello, 41%!). As you pedal into more rural landscapes, you’ll soak up lush scenery and even tackle a few hilly bits—there’s just over 1,300 meters of ascent, balanced by more descent, so your legs get some reward on the way down.

You’ll cross from Czechia into Germany before rolling into Dresden, where Baroque architecture and art galleries await. Most of the path is easy-going, with a few gravel and paving stone patches—just enough for a bit of variety! This route is perfect for those who want to link two beautiful European cities at a relaxed, scenic pace. Don’t forget to sample a local pastry at both ends!
