By bicycle from Old Town to Vysehrad

This route takes you from the heart of Prague’s Old Town, one of Europe’s most picturesque historic centers, down to Vyšehrad, a legendary hilltop fortress with sweeping views of the Vltava River. You’ll start on iconic cobblestone streets—watch out, these can get a bit bumpy, but they’re part of the charm! Most of the ride winds through pedestrian areas, so expect a relaxed pace as you weave past historic squares and lively cafés.

After rolling south through the city, you’ll climb gently (around 57 meters of ascent) as you approach Vyšehrad. The final ascent is rewarded by the fortress grounds, peaceful gardens, and the dramatic Romanesque Basilica of St. Peter and St. Paul. Take some time to explore the old city walls and soak up the views over Prague’s skyline. The route is just under 4.5 km, perfect for a leisurely city ride with a real sense of history at both ends!
