By bicycle from Malcesine to Limone sul Garda

Set out from the iconic Malcesine, perched on the eastern shore of Lake Garda and famous for its medieval Scaliger Castle. Your ride to Limone sul Garda takes you along one of the most stunning stretches of the lake. Expect roughly 12 km of rolling terrain, with enough ups and downs (about 290m ascent and similar descent) to keep things interesting.

You’ll be pedaling mostly on quiet roads, with a mix of asphalt and some gravel patches—so wider tires are handy. Around halfway, the route often traces the dramatic cliffside, treating you to jaw-dropping lake views (and maybe a photo stop or two). As you approach Limone, the scenery transforms with lush lemon groves dotting the hillsides—hence the town’s name.

Once in Limone sul Garda, reward yourself with a gelato or a stroll around its historic center, known for picturesque alleys and (of course) delicious limoncello. It’s a truly memorable ride that captures the magic of Lake Garda’s shores and hills.
