By bicycle from Zgornje Gorje to Bled

This short and pleasant ride takes you from Zgornje Gorje, a peaceful village just above the Sava River, down to the famous lakeside town of Bled. Starting in Zgornje Gorje, you’ll enjoy quiet roads and mostly smooth asphalt, making for a relaxing trip even if you’re not a seasoned cyclist.

As you pedal out, you’ll catch glimpses of the green hills surrounding the Upper Sava Valley. The route is mostly downhill—so get ready to cruise, with almost three times more descent than ascent. In less than 30 minutes, you’ll roll right into Bled, famous for its picturesque lake with an island church and medieval castle perched above. If you have time, park your bike and stroll down to the shore, or grab a coffee and a slice of the legendary Bled cream cake ("kremšnita").
