Cycling day trip from Poreč to Rovinj

This cycling route takes you from the beautiful coastal town of Poreč down to the charming old-town of Rovinj, both gems on the Istrian Peninsula in Croatia. Covering about 39 km, it’s a picturesque ride that winds through rolling countryside and quiet roads, with a blend of asphalt, gravel, and a bit of adventure on unpaved stretches—so a gravel or hybrid bike is a good pick!

Leaving the Venetian-influenced streets of Poreč (don’t miss the Euphrasian Basilica before you go!), you’ll enjoy mostly gentle climbs and descents—about 500 meters up and down—passing olive groves, vineyards, and those postcard-perfect Istrian villages. The route stays mostly away from busy roads, focusing on tranquil lanes and rural tracks.
