Cycling day trip from Mojstrana to Kranjska Gora

This scenic cycling route takes you from Mojstrana, a charming village nestled at the gateway to the Triglav National Park, all the way to the lively mountain resort of Kranjska Gora. The ride is about 26 km long and showcases the best of the Julian Alps.

You’ll start in Mojstrana—known for its mountain views and as the trailhead for several gorgeous valleys. The route spits you out onto a mix of cycleways, tracks, and tranquil asphalt roads. Expect plenty of fresh air, mountain breezes, and a solid workout, with around 800 meters of climbing along the way (don’t worry, there are some nice descents too!).

Around two-thirds of your ride is on paved surfaces, but you’ll want to be ready for some gravel sections that add to the adventure. As you approach Kranjska Gora, you’ll cruise into a sporty town famed for its ski slopes and cycling culture—perfect for grabbing a coffee or a slice of strudel to wrap up your ride.
