Bikepacking from Kranjska Gora to Bovec

This adventure takes you from the picturesque alpine town of Kranjska Gora, known for its ski slopes and gorgeous mountain views, all the way to Bovec, a lively hub for outdoor sports right in the heart of the Soča Valley. The ride is epic—almost 200 km of winding roads, dramatic ascents (over 7,000 meters up!), and thrilling descents.

You’ll start in Kranjska Gora, nestled at the foot of the Julian Alps, and soon find yourself tackling legendary mountain passes. Much of the route winds along quiet roads and some gravel tracks, so it’s peaceful—though a bit of an endurance test! Expect to climb to heights of around 1,200 meters and pass through forests, valleys, and old mountain villages.

As you roll into Bovec, get ready for a completely different vibe: whitewater rafting, stunning turquoise rivers, and a chilled-out mountain atmosphere. This route is a serious challenge with breathtaking scenery the whole way—perfect for well-prepped cyclists who want an unforgettable Slovenian ride.
