Cycling day trip from Karojba to Rovinj

This scenic cycling route takes you from the charming hilltop village of Karojba, nestled in the heart of Istria, down to the vibrant coastal town of Rovinj. Karojba is known for its rural atmosphere and beautiful views of rolling vineyards—a perfect place to start your ride.

Expect around 54 km of mixed surfaces: about a third of the route is gravel, balanced by quiet country lanes and the occasional stretch of busier roads. While you’ll do a fair bit of climbing (almost 700 meters of ascent), you’re rewarded with more descent, especially as you roll toward the Adriatic. With about half the route on tracks and unpaved sections, a gravel or sturdy touring bike would be the best option.
