By bicycle from Bled to Zasip

A short but punchy climb from Bled to Zasip. It’s about 3.7 km with roughly 110 m of ascent, mostly on quiet asphalt backroads with a short, rideable path section. Expect a steady uphill and virtually no descent—drop into your easy gears and spin. Figure around an hour if you’re cruising and pausing for photos.

Roll out from Bled’s lakeside/town center and thread through calm residential lanes, then the gradient ramps up as you head northeast toward the village. Surfaces are mostly paved and smooth; there’s a brief mixed section before you rejoin asphalt into Zasip.

Bled needs no intro: the emerald lake, the island church, and the cliff-top castle make it one of Slovenia’s icons. Zasip is a peaceful village perched above the Bled basin; a short walk up to St. Catherine’s Church rewards you with big views of the Karawanks and Julian Alps. You’re also close to the Vintgar Gorge trailheads.

Tip: bring water and lights for the shady lanes; the roads are quiet but can be narrow.
