Cycling day trip from Cota to Chía

This scenic bike ride takes you from the small town of Cota to the lively city of Chía, both nestled just outside Bogotá. The route covers about 40 km, passing mostly through cycleways and quiet roads, making the ride both enjoyable and safe for cyclists. With gentle ups and downs (about 112 meters of ascent and descent), the terrain is pretty friendly—even if you’re not a mountain goat!

You’ll wind through farmlands and catch glimpses of the Andean foothills, with the route peaking around 2,586 meters. Most of the way is paved, with just a small section on unpaved roads, so a road or hybrid bike will do the trick.
