Cycling day trip from Targówek to Nieporęt

Roll out from Targówek, Warsaw’s right‑bank district known for Park Bródnowski and the M2 metro, then head north to pick up the Żerański Canal path. From here it’s an easy, almost dead‑flat 35 km cruise, mostly on dedicated cycleways with smooth asphalt and a few paving‑stone patches. The canal keeps things shaded and quiet—expect reed beds, anglers, and the occasional lock to break up the view.

You’ll finish in Nieporęt, gateway to the Zegrze Reservoir (created by the Dębe Dam), a favorite weekend spot for sailing and beach time. Grab an ice cream at the marina or cool off at the Nieporęt–Pilawa beach before turning back.

With minimal elevation change and very little traffic, this is a beginner‑ and family‑friendly ride. Tips: bring water and sun protection, watch for short paving‑stone sections and crossings, and pack lights for the underpasses.
