Elogio dei pipistrelli (e del bosco) di Staffarda

An ring in the Staffarda-Saluzzo-Revello triangle. Foot of the mountain plain of the Granda, flourishing agriculture, even excessive. The forest around the abbey is an exception, the rest are kilometer-long rows of fruit, April chromatisms, ideal for graphic compositions (however, avoid the days when irrigation is done).

While waiting for the planned realization of the Barge-Saluzzo cycle path, it is advisable to limit the journey to Revello. The arrival at the beautiful historic center at the foot of Monte Bracco is preceded by a pleasant diversion on the country roads in the plain at the mouth of the Valle Po, thus avoiding the treacherous Sp 26.

Road surface. Predominantly asphalt, good dirt road is encountered in the initial and (especially) final sections, on the return to the abbey.

Railway station: one day, perhaps, Saluzzo. An opportunity, however, relying on the possible restoration of the line.
