Žacléř – Stachelberg – Libečská luka - Žacléř

Libavské (Královecké) saddle separates Rýchory from Vraní mountains, respectively Krkonoš from Broumov Highlands. And right here partially leads the return route of this trail. From Rýchorské Square you need to head towards Trutnov (cycle route 4081). From the top of the climb, it's worth taking a moment to detour and visit the museum and the underground of the Stachelberg fortress. It was primarily intended to defend the aforementioned Libavské saddle, a strategic access gateway into the Czechoslovak interior. Then keep to follow the markings of 4081, which will take you through the quarry, around the Obešlovka lodge, until you reach the junction Za zámeckým vrchem. Here you need to connect to the route 4084, leading through Voletiny to the main road Trutnov – Královec. Following is a left turn, and you should stay on the road until the large viaduct in Libče. You can't miss it, just like the left turn just before it. This will lead you up to the Libečská meadows. Following will be a path along the stream Ličná, just in the places that the Stachelberg artillery fortress was supposed to oversee. This is because the natural conditions here allow for access to the interior almost at level. Keep your direction until the settlement of Křenov, where you will be back on asphalt road. Here it is enough to turn left and through Prkenný Důl you can easily return to Žacléř. Important points: Žacléř – Stachelberg – Voletiny – Libečská luka – Křenov - Žacléř
