Rundweg Flöhatal-Bornwald

The route mainly follows very quiet secondary roads and car-free paths. It is only partially suitable for racing bikes, as it contains some unpaved paths. However, it is well-suited for touring and trekking bikes. It is recommended to undertake the ride in a clockwise direction, starting at the Mühlenplatz in Grünhainichen at the Flöhabrücke. There, it is easy to park your car. However, arriving by Erzgebirgsbahn from Flöha to Olbernhau to the Floßmühle stop is also advisable. Beautifully situated, the ride winds through the wild and romantic Flöhatal at around 300 m above sea level, before reaching its highest point at 617 m above sea level on gentle to moderate climbs through the Bornwald, passing by two idyllic drinking water reservoirs. Before Börnichen, there is a wide view over the Zschopauer Land all the way to Augustusburg. On the old connecting road, you reach Grünhainichen, where you return to the starting point after a steep descent through the village.

Not only natural beauties are to be admired. There are also places to eat waiting for thirsty and hungry cyclists: Fuchsbau restaurant, Waldhof, Gelato Richter, Restaurant zum Alten Leiterwagen.
