Le Grand Piton, point culminant du Salève

This route allows access to the Grand Piton, the highest point of the Salève massif, at 1380 m altitude. Its plateau is marked by lapiaz. Vast panoramas over the Franco-Swiss Geneva Basin and the Jura, notably from the Ferme de la Thuile. Along the way, in the village of Beaumont, the statue of Saint James of Compostela stands before the church. At the foot of the Salève, the Chapel Notre-Dame de l'Espérance. You will also discover the alpine chalet of La Thuile, the Grande Paroi, and of course the Grand Piton (the summit of the Salève rising above 1389 m and the Bastian tower) as well as the curious rocky point called La Sorcière.
