Sentier géologique de la grotte d'Orjobet

This themed trail allows you to discover the geology of the Salève and its curiosities using information boards: the Orjobet Cave, the Trou de la Tine, the Corraterie vaults, the sandstone of the Faverges rocks, and a 360° panorama over Geneva and Mont Blanc. One of the most difficult trails of the Salève due to its duration, elevation gain, and airy passages. It is intended for experienced hikers. Walk in the footsteps of Horace Bénédict De Saussure, a Genevan scientist and alpinist who discovered the Orjobet Cave and named it after his guide. The start can also be made from Place Amédée VIII de Savoie in the center of Collonges-sous-Salève or from the Bossey town hall. The marking follows the departmental charter, with wooden posts and beige plaques. For the geological trail, follow the 'rock crystals' pictograms. Access to the Tennis parking in Collonges-sous-Salève is closed and prohibited from 20/05/21 until further notice (Prefectural decree of 20/05/21 NA-2021-054).
