<span style="font-size: small; color: #000000; font-family: Times New Roman;">Durch die Hurricanschäden im Osten mussten wir unseren Tourstart nach Santa Clara verlegen. Die quirlige aber staubige Stadt ist mehr wegen des Che-Denkmals<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>und –Museums bekannt, es lohnt sich aber dennoch, einen Tag hier zu verbringen. Man verlässt die Stadt auf der Carretera Central nach Süden und erreicht nach ca. 30 km Manicaragua, wo man einen kleinen Imbiss nehmen und seine Wasservorräte auffüllen sollte. Der Weg zum Hotel „Hanabanilla“ ist ab hier ausgeschildert. Die letzten 8 km beinhalten noch eine kräftige Steigung, der Lohn für die Plackerei ist der Blick vom Hotel auf die Bergwelt und den Embalse de Hanabanilla.</span>
