About This Route

It avoids first part of Avon Cycle Trail and follows the river path instead. The path contains four 'pedestrian only gates' (annoying as it is not written for pedestrain only). The path allong the river is much more interesting, passing by good pubs located by the locks.

You leave path in Keysham by The Locks Keeper pub and join road going to Bitton direction. To join Avon Cycle Path follow signs to Avon Valley Railway (right on the roundabout).

It is a ruturn route so distance *2, but come back following Avon Cycle Path up to Midland Road, Bristol, as it is much interesting too (especially tunnel...during hot summer days..)

You will cycle on the following surfaces: Paved Unpaved Gravel
