The start of this scenically impressive route is the junction from EuroVelo9 at Sollenau. Another starting point can be Markt Piesting, with good rail network connections. The route leads to Gutenstein along the Piesting River into the valley named after the river. The enjoyable bike tour passes through the valley of poets, musicians, and painters to Gutenstein. Ferdinand Raimund, Johannes Brahms, as well as the historical painters Friedrich Gauermann and Leopold Kupelwieser, have left their marks here. Some pavilions along the route date back to their time, providing insights into the Biedermeier period (1815 to 1848). / Those wishing to learn more about this era and its people are recommended to visit the Forest Farmers Museum in Gutenstein.
