Fietsroute door de Veluwse bossen

Experience the forests of the Veluwe! The route takes you through the woods to the smallest village in the world, Staverden. By the way, there are two other places that claim this title... But of those three, Staverden certainly has a beautiful castle where the Count of Gelre liked to spend time. The gardens are well worth a stop. Visit the white peacocks and look for the Leonorapol. Who knows, you might meet someone at the little island with her gravestone who can tell you her sad story. Leave Staverden behind and cycle on to the picturesque Garderen, a cozy village in the heart of the Veluwe. From Garderen, cycle through a forest full of sturdy beech trees to Drie. Look around carefully, it is quite possible you will encounter wildlife along the way.
