About This Route

Short ride (maybe 22 miles one way), but very pastoral.  Traffic, even on a Saturday, is relatively easy (until you get to Point Reyes Station).  Lots of fellow bikers.  The initial climb up from San Rafael on Lucas Valley Road -- more specifically, the last quarter mile of that climb - can be a tad tough, but that is part of the fun.  Doing the same hill on the other side, on the return trip, is easier due to tailwinds.  The shown route and elevation changes show only for the trip out; the return trip is the same, of course, but in reverse.
