Fietsen door RivierPark Maasvallei

The Maas forms about 40 kilometers of the border between Dutch and Belgian Limburg. On both sides of this Grensmaas, there is much to experience for cyclists. You will encounter beautiful natural scenery and historic church villages.

RivierPark Maasvallei The area along the Grensmaas has been renamed RivierPark Maasvallei. Both Limburgs hope to better protect nature through cross-border cooperation. And rightly so! The landscape here consists of a beautiful chain of agricultural fields, river branches, riverbanks, runnels, gravel ponds and floodplains. From the saddle, you can fully enjoy the tranquility and the stunning views over the Maas. A pair of binoculars is not a luxury here, especially if you love birds.

Limburg villages Between the Julian Canal and the Maas, you cycle through the old picturesque village center of Urmond, a nice place to soak up some history. Further along, you pass by Castle Stein. This moated complex includes, among other things, a ruin of a limestone donjon from 1200, wow! In Grevenbicht, you come across a seventeenth-century watermill. A bit further on, at Eetcafé Aurora, you can enjoy a drink and a delicious meal.
