Santa Rosalia - Parco Calaforno - Italia - Sicilia - Modica - Giarratana

This route also starts from Modica (Sacro Cuore neighborhood) and reaches the descent of Sant'Icono on some maps, Santo Cono on others, via asphalt, about 17Km. At the end of the dirt descent of Sant'Icono, you proceed in the direction of Giarratana again on asphalt; before the sharp bend that leads to the dam, you leave the asphalt and go back on dirt until you pass in front of the small church of Santa Rosalia, which gives its name to the whole area. After passing the little church, after a short stretch of asphalt, we are back on dirt, climbing a path that rarely allows pedaling, a steep ascent, until we re-emerge onto the asphalt. A long stretch of asphalt is traveled until crossing the provincial road Giarratana Chiaramonte Gulfi, turning right towards Giarratana, and then leaving the provincial road to enter the Calaforno park. From here until you reach Modica Giarratana, it is all downhill and all off-road. The return is on asphalt back to the starting point. Download the GPS file.
