The hike leads to the northernmost tip of the Südheide Nature Park through the Dübelsheide and the Schlichtenheide near Schmarbeck. Here, larger heathland areas lie in hilly terrain. They offer wide views over the Südheide. The dense juniper stands at the edge of the heath are considered the most beautiful and largest juniper forest in Lower Saxony. A herd of Heidschnucken sheep regularly grazes across the heath. In addition, forests, meadows, and fields can be explored. Schmarbeck and Niederohe feature authentic heath farms with old farm trees.
