About this route
toughest stage. 2 right mountains and long distance. We were really hungry. Towards the sea at the Fiume di Castrocucco, we had such a headwind that we even had to pedal strongly downhill. The bypass roads of the villages are demanding. They quickly rise again by 200-300 meters above sea level and then descend again behind the village. It wasn't really faster. It was already getting dark before Paola. Very dangerous the last kilometers on the fast road.
