Wandelen door Beek en omgeving

Beek is a beautiful village in the south of Limburg. In the countryside, you can leisurely stroll through the hills. Kelmonderbos The route starts with a drink and a snack at De Oude Pastorie Beek, a beautiful place rich in history. From here, you climb the hills via the footpath. You walk between meadows and fields, occasionally seeing an orchard. It’s wonderfully peaceful here, ideal for a day to unwind. You pass through the Kelmonderbos, a slope forest where giant bugleweed and wild savory grow. Chapel In the valley of the Keutelbeek, you see poplars and marshy fields. The nature reserve merges into a landscaped park that belongs to Genbroek Castle. You see the Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, made mostly of glass, dating from 1954. In Beek, you pass by, among others, the Saint Martin’s Church. The current building dates from 1910; its 13th-century predecessor had become dilapidated and was therefore demolished. At the market square, you also see some beautiful buildings.
