Pollença und Coll de l'Era / Coll de sa Batalla - Einrollen in die Berge

Taster tour into the mountains. The coastal road between Alcúdia and Port de Pollença has at least a shoulder, but it only gets beautiful on the turnoff to Pollença. It is worth visiting the hill where the chapel stands. You can either climb up via a long straight staircase or take winding and sometimes quite steep streets. The ride towards the mountains then begins with a long boring and flat stretch, but from the moment it 'kicks off', the route becomes noticeably more beautiful. There usually wasn't much car traffic. The Coll de l'Era forms, together with the Coll de sa Batalla, a sort of double pass, in between there is only a brief descent and then a brief ascent. At the Coll de sa Batalla, there is a gas station and a cyclist's cafe, but the gas station isn't really cheap and is often closed around lunchtime for about an hour. For larger supplies, it is worth going to Inca; a supermarket is right on the route and it's all downhill from there. The rest of the route is quite unremarkable; however, around Sineu there can be a lot of car traffic, especially on market days when throngs of tourists want to see an 'authentic Mallorcan market'. By the way, there is a truly Mallorcan market in Inca - and it is just as spectacular as a German market! :-)
