About This Route

quiet traffic-free route from Railway station, across A75T-bypass, to North Dumfries. Turn left to access Quarry Road and a lovely climb along a lane to Ae village to the north, or turn right then first left to access A701 (Moffat) which allows access to lanes to Tinwald, Amisfield and Shieldhill to explore quiet roads in annandale all the way to lockerbie and Moffat, or use Tinwald - Torthorwald and east to access Solway-coast routes towards Annan and Gretna
